Bioimaging

When used as bioimaging markers, quantum dots can be conjugated to specific targeting molecules such as antibodies or peptides that recognize and bind to specific biological targets of interest, such as cancer cells or specific biomarkers.

Among quantum dots SiQDs are the only ones that totally avoids the use of metals thus are the only one that doesn’t accumulate in animals.

As we have demonstrated SiQDs are completely cleared from the body (study in mice) in 48 hours. LINK: https://pubs.rsc.org/en/content/articlelanding/2020/nr/d0nr00814a

Key Advantages of SiQDs:

  • Brightness and Photostability
  • Tunable Emission
  • Large Stoke’s Shift:
  • Long Imaging Lifetimes
  • Proved Biocompatibility
